Today we are extremely proud to announce the release of Spirit Framework version 5.3. 

Spirit 5.3 is the final release of our PHP5 branch of the Spirit Framework and includes our new, faster and stronger data model tuned to product complex web pages and blinding speeds.

Key New Features

• PHP 5.2 Compatible
  Spirit 5.3 is PHP 5 compatible running on new PHP5 servers in our German data centre. 
   
• New Data Layer
  We have totally re-built our data layer taking full advantage of PHP5's improved object orientation model.  This makes Spirit 5.3 considerably faster at building complex pages that require heavy use of the database.
   
• .css & .js gzip compiler
  All CSS and JavaScript resources are now compiled into single files and served in gzip compressed format.  This not only considerably reduces download times but also vastly improves page rendering times by obviating the bottleneck in most modern browsers relating to threading of CSS and JavaScript requests.

Spirit 5.3 has been developed in tandem with our new Foundation Packages to provide fast, accessible and cost effective websites to the small enterprise market.
